The Nook Of Monte Cristo
located a little more then an hour north of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade mountain range on the Mountain Loop Highway just outside the small town of Granite Falls is our property with a guest house "The Nook of Monte Cristo". Our property is nestled in the Canyon Falls neighborhood and is perfectly located for those wanting to explore our great hiking trails, wilderness, and all that nature has to offer. Then when your all done you have a place close by to come back, unwind, and relax.
The "Nook of Monte Cristo" is a guest house cabin on our property and sits adjacent to our trailer on the property. We do our best to give guests their privacy with even putting up curtains on our deck. The property is in a prime location for you to get started on your adventures on all the great hiking trails and wilderness that the Mountain Loop Highway has to offer.
After a long day of adventure this guest house/cabin is like a dream. All nestled inside 160 sq ft is a cozy oasis with all the amenities one needs even for a long holiday.
the guest house has a covered porch overlooking our small pond and is great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee/tea and maybe you will be blessed by a sighting of ducks, heron, frogs, birds, or even deer like to wonder through. The covered porch has two outdoor chairs with cushions and a table, if you like there are two TV trays inside that you can take outside to enjoy outside dining if you like. There is also outside lighting around the deck that can be turned off by unplugging.
When you arrive there is a dedicated parking spot straight ahead next to the cabin. If you have an EV, Charging maybe available for extra funds if needed($5 a night charges 10-12MPH). Please speak to host before just connecting. We only have J1772 so Tesla owners will need an adapter. If you have more then 1 vehicle the other vehicle can be parked outside of the property on the road it is only 50ft away from the cabin and there is not a lot of traffic here as there is only a handful of other properties in our section of the neighborhood.
Our neighborhood has a couple river access locations including a park. But, if your really looking for adventure then you will have to check out all the hiking trails that this area has to offer up the mountain loop highway, just don't forget your Northwest Forest Pass which can be purchased in town if needed.
The guest house cabin has most of the amenities that one would need for a short or long stay.
We have everything you need except for personal laundry service. There is a laundry mat in town which is not far away. during your stay if extra linens are needed just notify the us as we have extras.

- Tankless Hot water tank (ENDLESS HOT WATER)
- Fully Stocked Kitchen with medium size fridge/freezer, convection toaster oven for baking and air frying, Nuwave hot plate for cooking on, toaster, waffle maker, tea pot, Keurig coffee pot(K cups & full pot), mixer, microwave, and dishes for baking, cooking, and eating.
- Shampoo, Conditioner, Bodywash supplied. We use Ginger Lily Farms (Plant Based)
- Mini Split Air Conditioning and Heating System
- All bedding, towels, washcloths are supplied and can be replenished during long stays as needed.
- Alarm Clock with USB adapters
- Fire pit with free firewood (make sure to bring paper though)

- We are pet friendly and we do have two indoor/outdoor cats that like to come over and say hi their names are Olive (Tuxedo) and Martini (Gray strips).

Q: Minimum stays & Monthly Rentals
A: Yes, Because we are one of the lowest priced rentals in the area we do have a two-night minimum, If you stay longer we have 3 night, weekly discounts and you save more up to 50% off for monthly stays
Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Yes, please make sure that you select pet fee. We are dog-friendly! A maximum of 2 pets allowed, but remember its only 160 sq feet so maybe 2 small dogs. Please make sure to follow pet rules.
Q: How many quests are allowed?
A: 2 Adults. If you have a little one(Infant) that would be okay as well as long as you feel you will have enough space. Please keep an eye on them due to the pond as outlined in our terms and agreement.
Q: Can I check in Early/Late?
A: Can I check in Early/Late?: All you have to do is ask? If it is available I will see what we can do to accommodate. If going hiking the day of checking, please let us know and you can drop off your stuff ahead of time in our Laundry Room. Do not leave valuables in vehicles at trail heads
Q: What's in the kitchen?
A: The kitchen is stocked with essentials: Convection toaster oven/Air Fryer, NuWave cooktop , toaster, microwave, mixer, waffle maker, teapot, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, spices. Outside there is a propane Flat top/Grill Combo
Q: What is the Coffee Situation?
A: We have a Keurig Coffee Maker for K-Cups or 10 cup Full Pot maker. We will have some coffee and have a sugar canister full of packets of sugar and several different types of sugar substitutes. The K-cups is a reusable metal K-Cup, but your more then welcome to bring your own favorites.
Q: Is there a Washer or Dryer
A: There is a laundry mat in town. We try to keep our costs down and therefor do not offer our seperate Laundry Facility unless you are staying 7 days or more. We will give instructions on those stays as it is not connected to Cabin but is on property.
Q: Blankets and Pillows situation:
A: There is an extra blanket next to the bed. There is 4 pillows on the bed. In the Fall/Winter/Spring we keep an extra blanker on the bed before the quilt.
Q: Are you in a secluded area?
A: We are in a neighborhood with a mixture of different properties with houses, manufactured homes, RV lots, and vacation rentals. This property is located on the back side of a loop and is more quiet then some of the other streets. Probably only a handful of vehicles drive by a day.
Q: What is there to do around here
A: Enjoy the nature. Grantie Falls is the "Gateway to the Cascades" and have several popular hiking trails. Just make sure to get a permit from intown (Shell Station) and don't park on the roadway or you can get towed.
Q: Can I get an Uber up here?
A: It can be extremely difficult to get an Uber up here, BUT your host actually owns a transportation company offering transportation from Snohomish County and Beyond. Check out the website at www.JoesJoyRides.com
